Marley Bell

Hello Everyone!

It's my birthday! It's me Spot ---- no,no, sorry it's Marley now! Well here I am at my favorite park. I love the sun, the snow, the rain.... I love being outside and taking naps. My mama and family love me a lot. How can I tell, wellll.... I get to do one of my favorite things - eat! They take me to parks and in the big thing that goes fast! They like to play some of things I like to play (catch, tug, chase....), and my fuzzy sister Bendy, she's not like me, is so much fun! Except when she makes those funny sounds.... Owwwww, meowwww. She also tries to eat my food, I do share sometimes!

Marley Bell I also get to play with all kinds of friends at my daycare. I love that place! I love the people there too, they give me kisses. My mama smiles at me a lot and makes funny sounds when I get excited and run around in circles. She pats my head and says something about me not looking like a "bobble head" anymore. What's a bobble head? It must be nice, because she hugs me anyway! Well, thank you SOS Beagle for finding me a home!

Love Always!

Daisy Norton

This is a picture of my two daughters, Lindsay and Daisy. I can't believe that it has been 2 years since we welcomed Daisy into our family. We now could not imagine life without her. We are so lucky to have her. I just can't believe that someone left this sweet dog out on the streets. Don't know how anyone could have abandon this gentle soul. Se doesn't bark, really. Sometimes I think she is mute. The only time she barks is in her sleep.

Daisy Norton She is a big love bug. She loves to snuggle and begins to cry if you leave the room, even if someone else is in the room with her. It like we are her pack and we must all be together. We have been living with my parents and recently we purchased our first home. While looking at houses Daisy's needs were taken into consideration. Daisy loves to bask in the sun so we had to have a house with lots of windows so Daisy could lay in the sun no matter what the temperature is outside, and it has a bricked patio and pathway which will make Daisy happy because she does not like placing her paws on wet grass. I would like to thank SOS and everyone who helps save these great dogs and allows families like ours to be so blessed to give this special dogs a forever home!

Love Always!

-Catherine Norton

Stormy

We just wanted to share an update on Stormy. Stormy was four months old when we got her and it was love at first sight. She has this striking half moon marking on her face and within moments of being in Linda's home Stormy curled up with our daughter. It appeared she was equally fond of us.

Stormy is now about a year old and we have shared a lot of great experiences with her. She has such a great soul. It is one of the first things people notice about her. She gets very excited over everything from walking to playing and meeting new people. She has become a favorite at the daycare she visits once a week and has made many friends in the form of dogs and staff members. She has also completed basic obedience training and is about half way through an intermediate course with hopes of taking an advanced training course in the future. She is eager to learn and please.

Stormy and friend This past summer Stormy and I discovered our mutual love of hiking on one of our many camping trips. She joined me as I hiked to the Pinnacle Point in Berks County PA along the Appalachian trail. We have taken many hikes since. She has added such a energy to our family. The kids adore her. She is Caitlyn's very best girl friend and they curl up and watch movies together. Nathan on the other hand loves having someone to run through both the house and yard at full speed with.

I am so thankful for SOS beagles and all the work they do to allow these wonderful dogs to find homes. I never would have imagined that a little dog from Tennessee could make such a difference in our lives. I am so proud that she is with us and thriving here.

Allie and Digby

We adopted Digby & Allie from your Alabama chapter. They have been an amazing addition to our home. From the minute we brought them home they fit right in with our other beagle Sugar and our 2yo son.

Allie and Digby All three spend their time playing in our 1/4 acre backyard, chasing our son Nick or napping on the couch. And at night they all sleep on the bed with my husband and I. We are so happy we could give 2 great beagles a second chance!

Barclay

I just wanted to send an update.
Barclay (formerly Tony) is doing great and is so happy to have a bigger house and yard now. Barclay has been a great addition to our lives since we adopted him in October. After many vet visits regarding his itchiness, we finally learned how to treat his allergies. Our former vet had us treating him for food allergies and we never saw any improvement despite diet changes and limited ingredient/grain free foods. Our new vet in PA (who we love!!) redirected us to start treating him for inhalant allergies. He has been taking Atopica for 30 days now and we have seen a big improvement.

Barclay His belly is no longer red and is actually starting to grow hair (his belly hasn't had hair on it since we adopted him). He's a very happy boy and loves long walks sniffing around the neighborhood and napping. He doesn't howl much, except when the ball he plays with goes under the couch and he can't reach it. He loves his toys and his kong. He also gets along great with my parents beagle. I've attached a recent pic of him right after an afternoon of grooming at PetSmart. He's been there a few times for doggy day camp and all the employees loved him!

Best Wishes,
Jackie

Buxton

A year plus since his adoption, Buxton wants you to know how happy he is in Wilmington, DE, and that he doesn't miss Tennessee! He's a great dog, Linda, very affectionate, very playful, and mostly very obedient, except when on a scent or interested in chewing a stick--or branch he has captured! He has an older canine buddy, who lives upstairs, and with whom he frequently hangs out and often takes long walks.

Buxton My vet estimated Buxton was no more than a year old in October 2010, so we figure he's a little over two right now. He filled out after we cleared up some parasites, and seems very healthy. As are all Beagles, he is a chow hound, but I keep him away from people food.

Thank you for bringing us together. Buxton is a joy, and he is much loved.

All the best,
Kate Graham

Haley

I can't believe it's been 2 years since we adopted Haley (known then as "Alyssa"), and we've come so far! She is sweet, funny, somewhat of a ditz (but NOT stupid) and a wonderful best friend to our beagle boy, Brady.

The past few months have been a whirlwind for them and Haley has come such a long way. She started obedience classes the week after we brought her home, and after only 2 6-week sessions, earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate! From there it's been classes every week for both therapy work and obedience. She has not been tested yet, but I intend to have her certified so she can go visiting with me. Brady is already a therapy dog and has been visiting for almost 3 years and I know she will do well.

Haley Haley made her show debut in September in Goshen, CT and easily earned her first Rally Novice leg with a score of 97! We then had the pleasure of attending the Beagle National Specialty in Boxborough, MA. She and Brady were SO well behaved in the hotel, and Haley got her second Rally leg with a placement, and her first Beginner Novice Obedience leg with a placement. Brady also got his first CD leg (after trying for 2 years) with a placement. They got so much attention walking around the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed having two beds in the same room to sleep on! The following weekend, we attended an all obedience show here in Connecticut and both dogs finished rally titles...Haley's Novice and Brady's Excellent (and he won his class too!). I couldn't have been prouder! We finished the season at Springfield and Haley earned a bumper rally leg with a score of 92.

We have SOS to thank for letting us adopt this lovely little girl. She has made us all very happy and I know that she's enjoying life here with us. I can't believe we're looking at our 3rd Christmas with her already!

Annie Oakley

Oakley is doing great and growing like a weed. Attached is our before and current picture for you to share. This is Annie Oakley (formerly Leslie Benedict) when she was 8 weeks old and one taken today at 18 weeks. She is a total joy. Mostly well behaved with the appropriate mix of Beagle mischievous. Hope this finds you well and having a great summer.

Rufus

Rufus is such a great dog. Here are some pictures we've taken of him since we have had him! He is really doing so well. Great with house breaking - he rarely has an accident and goes whenever we take him out. We are kennel training him for night time and when we are out (never for more than 4-5 hours).

Rufus Schneider He loves to model and show off for pictures, he loves to play, chew, give kisses, and play with other dogs in the neighborhood. He always gets complimented on his manners and good behavior.
Thanks again!
