Shelby
We adopted Shelby (then named Chipper) from SOS Beagles in January of 2008. She was a very active, and extremely quick moving little 6 month old beagle when we got her. In fact, we named her Shelby after the car with the same name. Shelby quickly became a wonderful addition to our family, and has even grown to like the Yankees and the Giants! She watches every game with us with either her jersey or bandanna on!
Although in the beginning she didn't mind sleeping in her crate at night, once she had a taste for sleeping in the big comfy bed with Mommy and Daddy she wanted no part of that anymore! She has become quite a snuggle bug, and loves cuddling up on the couch to watch tv. Her favorite actor is Will Smith and if there is a movie of his on, she will watch the movie, completely captivated by him! She doesn't do this with ANY other movie! Although no human siblings yet, Shelby is great with our 3 year old nephew and loves giving him kisses! She has calmed down significantly over the 2 years that we've had her in our home, and we truly could not have asked for a better little girl!!

Mandy
Just wanted to let you know that Mandy is doing great. She's learning all about searching for bed bugs and is doing really well. She's still in training but will soon be placed with a handler (still to be hired) and will start to work for real. (Let me know if you know anyone who wants to become a bed bug detection dog handler).
When I train Mandy at the office she's so very proud of herself after finding the bed bugs and walking back to our cube. She trots along with her tail and head held high. She's so cute when she does that. I need to video tape it.
Mandy has changed a lot since we adopted her. She's got a very soft temperament, very gentle and loving. She's not possessive over toys anymore, just that one incident with Max way back in the very beginning. Now all the dogs play in the yard and trade toys, play tug and chase each other around like nuts. There's no possessiveness at all.
My vet Dr Brian Voynick at the American Animal Hospital in Randolph, NJ hosts a tv show on News 12 NJ, a cable channel. It's called "The Pet Stop". He's asked us to come on the show in July with the bed bug dogs. I'm not sure if it will be Mandy or Max. I'll let you know when the time comes.
Hope all is well with you both and all the Beagles. When we're ready for another dog we'll certainly let you know.

Wrigley
I am sooo thankful you allowed me to pick Wrigley up early! After a week of treatment for Parvo, she seems to be doing great. The Vet (who happens to be my best friend) says she came come home Tuesday as long as her health is still good. She says she is very happy and has a really good appetite.
I will make sure with her how soon I can have Wrigley spayed and will do it as soon as they feel she can. I feel horrible that none of the other puppies made it but at least one was saved. I'll send you a copy of her spay record as soon as I am allowed to do so.
Again thank you soooo much for letting us get her early, I couldn't have stood it if she had died after visiting her so much before.
Again, I'll send pics once we get her home. I'm sending one today that we took the first night just because it's so stinkin' cute! She knew she was spoiled when we got her!
I'll keep in touch and keep you up to date on her.
Talk to ya soon!,

Clover (no picture)
Well it has been a little more than 3 months and we thought you would like to know how Clover is doing.
She is adjusting to her new home well. She loves to go out in the yard and loves her daily walks even more. She is very sharp and alert when she sees a rabbit or squirrel. She is getting along with our cat, Snoopy, although we have to keep her away from Snoopy's food. She loves to play with her toys and she has quite a few favorites. She loves to cuddle. Russ has been training her and she listens to him and has a favorite spot in the kitchen when it is time for treats as a reward. She is a welcome addition to our household and has brought many smiles.

Killian (no picture)
our Killian home September 30th, 2009. We are a newly married young couple, and looked to SOS for our new addition to our family. We knew Killian (formerly known as Diesel) was our dog the moment we met him, but decided to sleep on it and come back in a few days. The second we got home, I felt guilty for leaving my baby behind. Needless to say, we brought him home a few days later, and haven't looked back since.
We call him our Little Gentleman, as he always offers his paw when he is greeted. The instructor of his training class believes he would make a wonderful therapy dog!
Almost three months and many squeaky toys later, we are so happy to be celebrating our first holiday season both as newlyweds, and as proud new beagle parents! I have attached a picture of Killian's visit to meet Santa. I hope you all enjoy it!
And of course, many thanks to Linda for matching us with our perfect
little boy! I can't even remember life before his wagging tail greeted
me every day!
