For information and an application on adopting a beagle, please visit the SOS home page. Don't see a beagle on the NJ list that looks like a match? Take a look at the TN page -- we may be able to arrange free transportation for dogs currently in TN. (GA dogs would require a paid transport at adopter's expense.) ADOPTED DOGS HAVE FOUND THEIR PERMANENT HOMES AND ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Owner surrender to local TN shelter, she spent her first years in a backyard pen after being purchased as a puppy and then forgotten. She's still learning what it means to be someone's dog -things like handling, structure and routine - but she's making steady progress every day. She'll need more leashwork and house time/training but she is smart.

ADOPTED BY THE DEL CONSOLE FAMILY - 4/18/26 Millie was surrendered with sister Oreo and is just a tiny bit more interactive than her sister. Both are learning "kennel up" but Millie gets a bit more concerned with kenneling -- no barking, no chewing her kennel but will unstuff a toy or pant a bit initially before settling.

ADOPTED BY THE LASSO FAMILY - 3/26/26 Miss Kitty was a neighborhood stray. Her owner was found but didn't want her back so SOS was called. She came into rescue in January a bit scared at first and heartworm positive. She's been treated and went through her 30 day crate hold and recently was able to join the other dogs outside. She is OK on leash but would prefer a fenced yard. She's good with other dogs but wasn't exposed to cats or children while in foster care. Contact Rayne of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE ALESSANDRIA FAMILY - 4/12/26 Celeste came into rescue and gave birth to 9 pups 10 days later. She’s a typical beagle. Her nose leads the way in the grass. On the road she just wants to walk. We passed some dogs barking behind a fence and she did not bark at them. She is still in need of a bit of baby weight loss, so lots of exercise and a good diet will be beneficial. Good with other dogs. Dumped in a TN shelter with his siblings, this little survivor has a sunshine personality. He could've shut down but instead he chose happy. This boy greets you like every day is the best day he's ever had.

Bruce is a small guy and 6-7 months. He came in with Wayne from a low-adoption KY shelter. His brother has been adopted and Bruce is hoping to find his home here in NJ. Bruce can get overwhelmed in busy environments but with a slow gentle approach he melts, leans in, snuggles like he's been waiting for that connection.

DJ and his sisters came from a low-adoption KY shelter, underweight and unsure. That early hunger shows up a bit around food (he can be protective with other dogs) but he's already improving and responds well to guidance.

Darlene is a gentle little shadow who just needs someone gentle enough to see her. She initially hangs back, watches and slowly gathers the courage to come closer and when she does, she melts right into you.

ADOPTED BY THE HOOVER FAMILY - 4/2/26 Budweiser was found as a stray and is very sweet, loving and always hungry. Crate easily. Was adopted immediately after transport from TN but took a dislike to the 17 yr. old daughter -- since he was a stray, we have no history and can only assume she reminded him of someone who had mistreated him. Rather than the family and Bud both be uncomfortable, we brought him back into rescue. He's good with other dogs, doesn't object to the crate, has been fairly calm in the house. He loves it when I call him over to my computer chair, puts his front paws up on my leg and gives me soft kisses. Contact Steve of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE LUERSSEN FAMILY AND NEW SIBLING FRED - 4/10/26 Wayne is a small guy and 6-7 months. He spent his initial 10 days in quarantine near his brother Bruce. He got pretty comfortable with Director Beth and finally feeling better got some outside other dog time. Still a puppy, still a bit unsure why people are now giving him attention but he is sweet, funny and a limp noodle in your lap with scratches and attention. He will just need to experience more lap time, more house time and leash time while gaining the confidence he has inside. More outgoing than brother Bruce at the moment. Strays from a ky shelter. Wayne is OK with other dogs. Cats unknown. Kids should be dog savvy with escape safety and calmness first while he also learns the love of family. ADOPTED BY THE MILLS FAMILY - 4/3/26 Rosario, or Rosie as she prefers, is a 31 lb mush whose favorite past time is snoring loudly on the couch. She is a bit reserved with men but eventually warms up and is willing to snuggle. She gets along well with other dogs with the exception of getting a little too feisty during 1 play time. She loves to chase her foster brother and has the cutest pounce when playing. She sleeps perfectly in a crate. She can leap a safety gate and is still working on her housetraining. She is afraid of brooms and vacuums and most loud noises. Mostly quiet (other than the snoring) she has only barked once or twice at something out the window. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys being out in the fenced yard off leash. This beagle is sponsored by: The Clancy family in memory of Emma and Peanut Contact Michele of SOS Beagle Rescue

Sister to Rooster, she earned her name the honest way - hops first, thinks later. Covered with ticks when found she hasn't let her rough start define her.

ADOPTED BY THE MOORE FAMILY - 4/19/26 Apologies to the others who expressed interest, but with kennel cough, Dodger could only go to a home with no other dogs until it had cleared for 7 days. A home without another dog became available.

JASMINE is curious, aware and bit bold. She will let you know how she feels when meeting new dogs but settles with structure and has done well in a busy foster setting. She knows a leash but needs work, will benefit from consistent house training. She needs structure and routine. A safe secure fenced yard is a plus, but a requirement for a home with young kids who might not realize she’s at the door. Contact Daniel or Fab of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE APONTE FAMILY - 4/13/26 Becky is around a year, 15 lbs and a curious gal. She and her siblings were also strays at a small KY shelter when we were asked to take. The most outgoing in the group but still uncertain the world is a good thing? Loves outside time, does a stop, slowly come forward, hesitate a bit before ready for attention. She likes a slow low approach. Active, young, svelte and a beauty. She shows more confidence than her siblings but will shine in a home dedicated to giving her the best life off the streets and safe. Clean in kennel with schedule, safe fenced yard a plus, more leash training and housetraining needed. Ok with other dogs. Cats unknown. Kids should be dog savvy with escape safety and calmness first while she learns the love of family.
