SOS Beagle Rescue: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania
For information and an application on adopting a beagle, please visit the SOS home page. Due to the number of people isolating at home for COVID-19, our applications to adopt have spiked. Since our dogs are transported from TN, we will be at the mercy of Government restrictions for non-essential travel, and the ability to transport dogs could end at any time. We suggest you first check www.petfinder.com to see if you find a beagle in a shelter close to you before applying, and ask that you have patience and understanding that we are doing the best we can with a sudden influx of 15+ apps a day and a limited number of dogs available. Your local shelters are probably in great need of fosters, so you could also consider fostering a dog for them while at home, and adopting once this great need has passed. Don't see a beagle on the NJ list that looks like a match? Take a look at the TN page -- we may be able to arrange free transportation for dogs currently in TN. (AL and GA dogs would require a paid transport at adopter's expense.) ADOPTED DOGS HAVE FOUND THEIR PERMANENT HOMES AND ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Jessie was timid at first but didn't take long to warm up. Toys help. Treats too....no surprise as he is a bit overweight but we are working on that and he is doing well with his diet. Ok on leash but can pull. He loves to play with his toys. Nap on them. Tease the other pups with them. He is also a pretty sure that anything could be a toy. His dog bed, blanket, that towel you just folded....all good toy options. He is young and can be a bit rowdy when he gets excited but he is a very sweet guy and loves a good nap after he is all played out.

ADOPTED BY THE PEASE FAMILY - 12/27/20 Kasey is a sweet female. Heartworm negative, some periods of shy but very attention seeking. Under 25 lbs, not a very big gal. Surprisingly personable for what we believe her background to be. She was one of 4 hunter dumped and thankfully a finder brought to a rural shelter. Kipling and Kyle are already in NJ. Kasey and the other female stayed behind for more groceries and vetting. Little Kyra needs more time to gain her health.

ADOPTED BY THE WAYCHOFF/ROSS FAMILY - 12/27/20 A very pretty and sweet boy, a bit nervous at first. Gets car sick the couple rides he has had after eating, always crated. His owners had given him away to someone they didn't know about 6 months before then he showed up at the local dump daily for a handout for a few weeks. His owner didn't know how to reach the second family but sadly (thankfully) no one was looking. Lew, an AARF volunteer helped him when the dump supervisor told him the story and held him a few days. He was indifferent with his dogs. He wanted to play a bit with the smaller dogs. He has had some house time, you could tell he is not used to a house but loved the couch, his allowed area was limited. Fed crated. Around 3 years? Just neutered. A solid 27.5 lbs. OL on leash but could use work. This beagle is sponsored by: Mikey and Oscar (AKA Pete) Imbarrato Contact Deby of SOS Beagle Rescue

ADOPTED BY THE RIKER/BROWN FAMILY -12/20/20 Dean is a clown. A sweet submissive guy. Gets along with everyone that has come through. Will mark around the kennel door but who hasn't? Clean in his crate and will hold it until he has some grass to poop! A belly giver, pay attention and talk to him and he will roll all noodle like into the ground wanting love. He has been heartworm held kenneled at Miss Beth's so not much house time unfortunately as her Boston terrier isn't a foster fan. He may take a bit of work in the house but will so be worth it. A real sweetheart. He and Sam came in together - Dean is the smaller of the two. Contact Linda of SOS Beagle Rescue
